Oysterfest 2023 Humboldt County

Arcata Main Street is thrilled to announce the return of the Arcata Bay Oyster Festival to the Arcata Plaza on Saturday, June 10th, 2023. The event will run from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. and is FREE for all.

Now in its 33rd iteration, this year the Oyster Festival returns to its roots on the downtown Arcata Plaza. There will be food vendors of all types, with many showcasing oysters locally-grown in the Arcata Bay. We will feature local brews and fine wines to wash down those culinary delights and live bands and DJs to get the crowd moving. The Kids Zone will have a bounce house and fun activities to ensure smiles for younger attendees. Also returning this year are the traditions that have made the Oyster Festival an iconic cultural event in Humboldt County, including: The Shuck and Swallow Contest, The Oyster Calling Contest, and the Best Oyster Contest. Artisans from across Northern California will be showcasing handmade creations in their booths in addition to the Plaza shops and Farmers Market. With a Kids Zone, great local art, beer, wine, food, music, and OYSTERS, there is truly something for everyone.

Arcata Oysterfest 2023: A Celebration of Oysters, Music and Community in Humboldt County

Arcata Oysterfest is back in 2023, and it promises to be better than ever before. This annual event celebrates all things oysters, from the tasty shellfish themselves to the people who harvest and serve them. But it's more than just a food festival. It's a chance for the community to come together, enjoy some great music, and support local businesses and non-profit organizations.

The festival takes place in downtown Arcata, California on the Plaza, and features dozens of local vendors selling everything from fresh oysters , local humboldt County beer to handmade jewelry and crafts. You can enjoy oysters from different restaurants to see who has the best preparation.

Aside from food, the festival also features a live music stage from local and regional artists. This year, the lineup has included well-known names like Object Heavy, The California Honeydrops, and The Brothers Comatose, Checkered Past Ska and Diggin Dirt. The music is a perfect backdrop for the rowdy atmosphere of the festival, and it's a great way to discover new artists.

But the Oysterfest is more than just a fun event. It's also an opportunity to support local businesses and charities. The proceeds from the festival go to local nonprofits, including the Arcata Main Street, which provides business and recreation opportunities to the Arcata community. So, by attending the festival, you're not just having a good time - you're also making a positive impact in your community.

Overall, Arcata Oysterfest 2023 promises to be a fantastic event. With delicious food, great music, and a sense of community, it's the perfect way to spend a summer day. Whether you're a longtime resident of Arcata or just visiting for the weekend, you won't want to miss this celebration of oysters and the people who love them. Mark your calendars for June 10th and get ready to Shuck it Up!!
